I am a self trained, born and raised Las Vegas artist. I love to paint on all surfaces. I struggle with ADHD, and painting on different surfaces or using different mediums helps keep my mind's attention.

When I was a little girl, I was convinced I was a terrible artist, because another girl in my classroom was naturally gifted. I stopped drawing around first or second grade and pursued every other type of hobby that was possible.

When I turned 19 I went to my first psychic, and inquired about my Oceanography career at the time. I can't recall most of that reading, but I distinctly remember her looking at me and saying, “ I don't see you studying oceans---I see you painting them. Do you paint?” I looked at her with the most confused look on my face because I genuinely had no idea how to create anything artistically. I honestly thought art was boring and colorless.

Fast forward ten years and a few traumas later, I was battling with intense PTSD. At the time, I was obsessively watching art videos. I was so enamored with other artists, wondering how they created what they did. Around this same time, a little voice appeared in the back of my mind telling me, “You should do this.” It kept nudging me to paint, and I kept ignoring it.

After a year, the voice finally won, and the most wonderful event occured--my mind went silent while painting. I was not a gifted artist by any means, but it felt so peaceful not feeling as if my mind was controlling me.

Around this time, the nickame Aphrodite was given to me. I wanted to keep it, because art is how I give love to the world. I am so connected to the name Aphrodite, that I have even Trademarked it in the art world.

it has now been 4.5 years since the litte voice, and I have completed numerous murals, shoes, commissions, and continue to dream and evolve. Art is my safe space, and I love using it to connect me to the world around me. Even if it doesn't make sense to anyone else, I know I am right where I am supposed to be. My mind is not my weakness, it is my greatest strength.
